Tire blowout...

March 1, 2023, treatment #12 in mom's journey. She still has very little appetite. In fact, she only ate 2 boiled eggs with 2 small sausage patties for breakfast and the same for supper. She skipped lunch. She has lost another 5 lbs, which makes a total of about 20 lbs now. Her blood pressure when she arrived at Anderson was a wonderful 138/80. So they were set to do the normal drip for the IV. They found a vein quickly and the treatment was own it's way. About 15 minutes into the treatment the nurse noticed a large bubble developing at the IV location.... Tire blowout! Actually, her vein blew out causing the fluid to build up under her skin. The nurse said she would have to start all over from the beginning but wanted to go in the back and have the nurses say a quick prayer for her veins to cooperate. Mom said she went to the back and returned about 5 minutes later and with no problem the nurse found another vein and all was good. Treatment went well after that. The power of prayer is mighty! Mom's energy is still up ever since the Myer's Cocktail treatment which makes me very happy. I hated seeing her so tired all the time.
