Today is March 20, 2023 and we have two more treatments completed in this journey. On last Wednesday's treatment #16, mom brought the luck of the Irish with her. She had made a St. Patrick's Day goodie basket for the nurses filled with green cookies. They loved it of course! Her blood pressure was awesome and she was on the fast drip IV. Today's treatment #17, also went well. Her blood pressure was 150/63 so another fast drip IV treatment. The only issue we keep having now is her veins not wanting to cooperate. The nurses hate having to try 3 to 4 places before they can get one that will work, as it leaves mom's arms bruised up quite a bit. The nurse today told mom that she doesn't mind poking people to start an IV, but didn't like turning mom's arm into a pin cushion. So please continue to pray that her veins get on board this journey and stop playing hide and seek with the nurses. Mom is a trooper however, and doesn't complain about all the needle pokes. She does complain about all the trips to the bathroom! Today, she told the nurses that they should get her a treatment chair set up in the bathroom to save her from getting up and down so much during the treatments. She said with all the water they have her drinking and the increase in her fluid pill that is helping her blood pressure along with the fluids from the treatments themselves, she is constantly having to go pee. They all laughed. The staff at Anderson is top notch and I couldn't think any other place I would rather her be treated than there. I am truly thankful for how wonderfully they are taking care of mom. Thank you all for your continued prayers and following her journey. God Bless.
