Today is April 12, 2023 and mom has completed treatments #22-24. At last Wednesday's appointment mom brought an Easter basket filled with Easter goodies for the nurses at Anderson. The people there are truly wonderful and I thank God for them every night. I believe our prayers have been answered and the Lord has provided Easter blessings with resolving the issues around mom's veins. So far the last several appointments have been without any blow outs or hide and seek games. In fact, the last several appointments have had no issues at all. On Monday, mom had her treatment in the morning and an appointment with the oncologist in the afternoon. So, my sister, Ruth Anne came up to take mom to those appointments. At the oncologist appointment, Dr. Rogers was very pleased at how good mom looked. She is very happy with the weight loss. Dr. Rogers ordered a CA-125 blood test to compare it to the results from before the treatments started. We should be hearing the results soon. Her pretreatment result was 186. So we are praying for a much lower number. This will help us know how effective these treatments are at slowing down and killing the cancer. Rogers also has put in an order for a PET scan. This is similar to a CT scan, but more detailed. This also should give us a better understanding on how well the treatments are working. This is still the beginning of a long journey, but I am hopeful with all the prayers and people supporting mom that she will overcome this obstacle in her path. We have had another large bag of sneakers come in from the nurses at Anderson and still able to meet up if anyone else wants to help fund mom's treatments. Just contact me here or on facebook to arrange a time and place for pick up. Thank you all for your prayers and for following mom's journey. God Bless.
