Today is February 15, 2023, treatment day # 8. It is hard to believe that she is one month into the treatments. It feels like it just began and yet feels like we should be further along at the same time. We had good and bad news today. The good news was the nurse was able to find a good vein on the first try, but the bad news was her blood pressure did go up a little to 156/88. Not horrible, but still high enough that she had to go on a slow drip for the IV. Thankfully, Ethan took her to today's appointment because when they got there it was super busy. Pop doesn't like afternoon appointments to start with and would have really hated getting home so late as he has a 45 minute drive after dropping mom off at home. Normally when mom arrives they see her right away, even when she arrives early. Today, however, they were not even ready for her until after the 2 pm scheduled time. This may have caused her blood pressure to be slightly elevated as she described it as "super busy" with more patients than normal. So with the long wait to be seen added with a crowded office probably caused some anxiety which elevated her blood pressure. Today was a long day for her. She said other patients came and went while she was still there with the IV slowing dripping. Drip......Drip......Drip....... Of course, today would be the day she forgot her phone and was stuck reading the one magazine the office had. Which she said was quite boring and nothing she was interested in reading about. Needless to say, she was not a happy camper. She said she would come better prepared the next time. But other than the slightly elevated blood pressure and the longer than normal treatment time, everything went well today. She felt fine after the treatment and was home a little after 5 pm. Thank you for your continued prayers and following her journey. God bless.
