Last Wednesday's treatment went well except for those darn veins of hers. They told her if there was continued issues with the veins in her arms then they would have to go to her feet. This upsets mom, as it should! Arms have a lot more tissue to them than the feet. I personally would not want to get an IV in my foot. Plus, with all the trips to the bathroom while she is getting her treatment would be very difficult. This past Sunday, we traveled to NC for mom to see her old home and to meet with the family that is buying the place. They invited us to church and then for lunch afterwards. It is so nice to have support from so many. It warms my heart that the good deeds that my mom has done throughout her life is coming back 10 fold to help her. They are letting us put up posters and a box at the church to help collect old sneakers to send to GOTSNEAKERS to help fund mom's treatments. They even sent us home with a bag full of sneakers that they had already collected. The nurses at Anderson also collected several sneakers to help fund mom's treatments as well. So we now have 2 more bags full to send back to GOTSNEAKERS and asking for them to send us more bags to fill. Today's treatment was wonderful as we got answered prayers for mom's veins to cooperate. The nurse tried out a slightly larger needle in hopes that it would work. Mom wasn't watching the nurse because she was talking with another patient and before she knew it the nurse was starting the IV! Thank you Lord for hearing and answering our prayers. And, thank you all for your continued prayers and following her journey. God Bless.
