My mom, Wanda, is a very loving woman. She has two daughters, myself and my older sister Ruth Anne. She is a loving grandmother to my two kids, Ethan and Cecilia and a loving great-grandmother to my grandson, Christopher. She is the oldest of her siblings. She has a brother, Donnie and two younger sisters, Debbie and Carol. She was always the mother hen to her siblings as she was much older than them. She grew up in rural NC and helped on the family farm before she started doing various jobs. She ultimately found her calling taking care of the elderly. She became a home health nurse and when both my sister and I were no longer living at home she became a live-in home health nurse for her clients. She treated her clients like they were her family and they felt that she was part of theirs as well. She would only come home on the weekends when she would then cook for her mother and take care of both households. She would give all her time to helping others. The little time she did take for herself she spent crafting, putting together puzzles, playing card games, and collecting any and all things ELVIS. She is now retired, but is still helping others as she has moved in with my son, Ethan, and is taking care of his son, Christopher when he is working. Christopher adores his Ma-Ma as he calls her. He sits in her lap watching videos on her phone or playing with his monster trucks. They are inseparable at times. Thank you for taking the time to get to know this wonderful person I call MOM.
